Skill Level: Intermediate/Advanced. Students must be proficient in Peyote Stitch and have had some experience with at least single column and perhaps double column Peyote With a Twist (PWAT).
Get ready to climb to new heights of freedom, artistry, and creativity with this Intermediate/Advanced Peyote With a Twist (PWAT) class. Students will learn how to follow a pattern to create a PWAT project.
The students may do any or all of the following:
1. Start a very versatile 4 color PWAT double column pattern project.
2. For those who need it, learn or review double column PWAT which will be necessary for the pattern the class will be using.
3. Learn to read a PWAT pattern and its variations.
4. Learn how to finish off the Starting End of a patterned PWAT project (which is very different from beginning PWAT.)
5. Watch a brief demonstration of Beadtool, a program that can be used to design your own patterns.
6. Receive new resources about ending PWAT projects, creating your own patterns for PWAT, as well as the rules to follow and what kind of patterns lend themselves to PWAT, understanding the different ways that designers write their patterns, and how to get free patterns for PWAT.
*Please Note: Students will NOT finish the project in class.*
Supply List:Each student will need:
• four colors of size 8 or size 11 round seed beads, either Miyuki or Toho, not both
• one larger stopper bead
• 6 or 8 lb. Fireline (or your favorite beading thread)
• several beading needles (size 10s are good)
• Anything else you need for beading (beading mat, light, scissors, etc.)

Skill Level: Beginner – Intermediate
Whether you are a beginner or experienced with polymer clay, you will learn how to make a beautiful blend of colors and use them to create 2-3 millefiori canes. From these, you’ll take thin slices to create veneers which will be used to make your personalized beads, buttons, etc. The kit cost includes a selection of polymer clay (7 to 8-2 oz. blocks), a clay blade, some scrap clay, 1 sheet of gold, silver, OR copper foil, deli paper and plastic sheets for storing clay, use of various cutters and other misc supplies.
Materials for students to bring: A complete list will be provided once registration and payment is received. However, students are highly encouraged to bring a pasta machine (purchase on eBay, @thrift store, new online or borrow from friend) or an acrylic rod/batter for conditioning clay, a work surface, preferably a flat ceramic tile at least 12” x 12” or a flat glass work surface.
About creating canes: millefiori (meaning millions of flowers) canes are a traditional Italian glass method. The process creates images and patterns within a cane or log of clay. Some of the earlier Polymer Artists adapting this technique were CitiZen Kane (now Ford and Forlano.)

These are round Bic pens which have been covered with polymer clay. They are brilliantly colored and each is unique. They are fun to give as small gifts or to use yourself. You may make up to six pens, and we will cure as many as possible in the time allotted.
Supply List:If you have a pasta machine, please bring it, and let the instructor know. Also bring tissue blades if you can, and especially, any leftover polymer canes that you have. If you have experience with polymer clay and can make one or two in advance to bring, it will help you work faster. If you have a work surface that you would like to bring, you may.
Instructor will supply clay and pens, a number of pasta machines, work surface, some blades.
